Detailed Description :
In any business, attracting new prospects is great. The more potential customers or clients you can attract, the more people will become aware of your business. Publicity is like that. It compounds exponentially. This is not, however, a guarantee of a successful business.

No matter how many prospects you attract, you won't be successful if you can't turn those prospects into customers or clients. That is, after all, the end goal. While attracting prospects is, of course, important, if you don't turn them into clients, then you are basically just wasting both your and their time.

So, how do you turn prospects into customers? While there may not be a simple answer, there are a number of things you can do to greatly increase the likelihood that your next prospect will be your next client. Keep these five simple ideas in mind during all your customer interactions, whether that means web site design, blog content, correspondence, or face to face meetings, and you are sure to see an improvement in your prospect to customer conversions.

First listen to them. Take in all the information and feedback you get and really consider their perspective. You may know how to tell them about your offer or product in a thousand different ways, but unless you take the time to listen to them, you won't know what they really want to hear.

You also want to make sure to get specific in your interaction with prospects. It really is all in the details. Every potential customer is unique and every conversion is going to hinge on some different detail. Use the generalities to attract the prospect and the specifics to close the deal.

Excitement is contagious. You can't expect them to be excited about your offer if you aren't excited about offering it. Keep the energy level up and keep them excited.

Focus on the service/product, not price. You're not offering them a price, you are offering them a product. You can't get someone to purchase something they don't want no matter how much it costs. First convince them they need what you've got, then talk money.

Finally, keep them involved. Make sure that through the entire time you interact with a prospect they have an active role in the interaction. Sales pitches are boring. Ask them what they want, how what you offer could be better. Even if they don't become immediate customers keep the lines of communication open by keeping them involved through some form of interaction.

There is no magic formula for turning prospects into a customer, but if you keep these general guidelines in mind during all you interactions, you will at least be working from a solid foundation. Now you can get back to attracting prospects, and with any luck, building the successful business you've always dreamed of.
